Ezra Ward
October 25, 1933 - March 26, 2005
Ezra Marion Ward of Spokane, Washington passed away Saturday, March 26th, 2005 in an airplane accident. He was born October 25, 1933, in Bloomington, Idaho to Marion Andrew and Opal (Allred) Ward. Ezra was 71 years old.
A celebration of his life will be held at the LDS North Stake Center, 401 West Regina, Spokane, Washington, at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 1st, 2005. Graveside services will follow. All are welcome to attend.
Ezra and Lucille (Pat) Crowther were married September 15, 1952 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) temple in Logan, Utah. Upon completion of Dental School at Northwestern, Chicago, Ezra served as a dental officer in the Air force for four years where he gained his love for flying. He was a retired dentist who practiced in Spokane and the Tri-cities area for 34 years.
He loved activities and sports that brought the family together, such as boating, fishing, snow skiing, water skiing, and much, much more. He was a staunch supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and a second generation Eagle Scout.
Throughout his life he held numerous leadership positions in the LDS church, including serving as a Bishop, Branch President, and Counselor in the Stake Presidency. From 1994 to 1996 he and his wife Pat served a proselyting and dental education/health mission to Zimbabwe, Africa and then, six years later in 2002, they served an eighteen month proselyting mission to Baltimore, Maryland.
Ezra touched the lives of many and will always be remembered for his selflessness and his acts of love and kindness to all. Ezra is survived by his wife Lucille (Pat) Ward, his brother Marcus Ward, his sisters Sandra Lea Ward and Sylvia Ann Glencoe, his eight children; Debra Johnson, William Ward, Karla Batt, Steven Ward, Karen Glenn, Michael Ward, Kristina Fairwell and Dana Fowler, along with 38 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ezra Ward, formerly of Lopez Island, died in an ultralight plane crash Saturday afternoon, (March 26, 2005) about 10 miles south of La Grande, Oregon. He was 71 years old.
